Upcoming Event.

Sorry for the lack of event updates, folks. I’ve been laying low. ‘How low,’ you ask? Well, I just happened to miss Kim Lenz & Big Sandy, that’s how low!

Well, at least there’s a rockin’ event coming right around the corner!

Wild Records artists Omar & The Stringpoppers, Dustyn Chance & The Allnighters, and Texas Steve & The Tornados will be rockin’ at the 23 Club, on November 26. Each show from Wild has been well… WILD, definitely not one you’ll wanna miss. So you can best bet I’ll be in attendance, getting my Jack Daniels on!

Some come on out and have yourselves a ball!

The Haight Street Hop!

Ever since Rockabilly Fridays have come to an end at Retox, it’s left a lot of folks without their weekly record hop. While the ever so often shows are fun and all, we need some sort of regular event!

Sick of sitting at home with your hand down your pants? Maybe you’re tired off farting in the bathtub, laughing your ass off. Well, look no further folks. It seems like “Handsome” Hawk Valentine has given us an answer, to your lonely Friday night prayers…

Starting Friday March 4th, there’s gonna be a monthly Haight Street Hop, manned by Tanoa and Oran. FINALLY… Another place to get drunk on a Friday night! And if you cats haven’t noticed by now, I just love drinking on a Friday night!  Definitely beats going around hopping from bar to bar, only to be surrounded by bros. Definitely like oil and water with me. Just doesn’t mix well…

It’s going to be held at Milk Bar, which also houses a ton of other sorts of event nights. But if it’s good enough for reggae nights, then it’s good enough for rockabilly nights, then it’s good enough for me!

One thing I like about this new event, is that they’re really pushing for local merchants to come out. And when the locals come out to support such events, the longer they last. If only people frequented Retox more often…

From swing lessons from Justin from Slim Jenkins, a Pin Up contest and prizes by Dollhouse Bettie, to free hairstyling from the kind folks at the Wak Shack, this is gonna be one hell of an event! And yes, for you cats who don’t know how to pomp too well, they will be doing pompadours as well! But ya know… If you’ve been reading my blog long enough, you should be doing it well by now ;)…

To top it all off… PBR + Whiskey (better be either Jameson, Wild Turkey, or good ol’ J.D.!!!,) is only $5! $20 and you’ll be nicely topped off.

So come on out, it’s gonna be a blast! But if you try and cut me off for parking, expect a flat tire.

More Up Coming Events

If you folks haven’t listened to Santos yet, go on Youtube and do it now. Needless to say, this is gonna be a good show.

I see a big rig, mac & cheese, and a truck driver get up contest. What’s left to say about this?

This one… I originally saw this flyer with The Chop Tops underneath Big Sandys name. Guess they’re not gonna be at this one? That’s a bummer. Regardless, it’s one wild looking line up… Rockabilly meets Psychobilly meets Tiki all on a Sunday… This… Should be a fun event.

A Couple More Upcoming Events

And these are some that you don’t wanna miss out on…

Two real solid, rockin’ bands. A huge dance floor for everyone to swing. Trust me, this is gonna be blast.

If you haven’t listened to Marti Brom yet, you are missing out. She’s got one hell of a voice, so you can bet that she puts on a great show.

She also will be performing at HopMonk. If you cats haven’t been to HopMonk yet, you’re missing out. They got some crazy beers there! And I’ll tell ya, they’ll get you drunk! I most likely won’t be able to make it out to this one, but for those who do, get a Pliney The Elder for the Rebel Rouser! Trust me on this one guys. That’s one badass beer. Especially from HopMonk.
And ladies, if you got a sweet tooth, you can bet they can satisfy all your needs. They have this cake called Chocolate Decadence and you can bet that there’s chocolate. And I don’t mean just chocolate, I mean a fuckin mountain of chocolate. Ridiculous. You’ll need to take a picture of it, so your friends will believe you that it really is that-big.

Oh yeah, get the garlic fries, they’re pretty bad ass as well!

More Event Flyers.

This time, on paper, not on file.

There were a few flyers at the entrance last night. So of course, gotta check em out!

So mark your calenders folks, these are gonna be some awesome events.

Some events you might wanna check out.

With the new year ahead of us, there will be a shit ton of events to hit up. Car shows, small gigs, big gigs, whatever. There’s always something going down, here in the Bay Area.
I prefer to keep the events I go to semi local. IE, no further than San Francisco and no souther than San Jose. Why? Well. I drink. And I don’t feel like getting a ticket, and the drive home after a long night, is always a pain in the ass.

Here are a couple flyers for some events I plan on hitting up.

I plan on going here for New Years Eve. Why? I’ve been frequenting this for a while now. The crowd is cool, no random crack heads outside, and I most likely won’t have any punk ass hipsters trying to be tough. Oh yeah, THERE’S PARKING. So yeah, this should be a nice chill place to head out to, for New Years Eve.

Self explanitory. James Intveld. Elvis Birthday Tribute. Plain and simple.

I haven’t gone to anything in the South Bay. So why the hell not? Plus, I really like The Chop Tops. So might as well make it out to this event, right?

At the Red Devil Lounge: December 18, 2010

One of my favorite “modern” rockabilly groups will be playin’.

Big Sandy & his Fly-Rite Boys. Though, I personally think the group was better with Mr. T.K. Smith and co, but they’re still just as rockin’ as ever.

Quarter Mile Combo and The RevTones will also be performing.

So mark your calenders folks! Because who doesn’t love Big Sandy?

Tonight

Rockabilly Fridays are up and kicking again at a new venue. Come out tonight and get your kicks. Ain’t nothin better than ladies drinkin’ and swingin’ to 50s and 60s beats. Be there or be square.
